'Field Maple - Hedge Maple' A medium-sized picturesque, deciduous tree, often used in rustic hedges. Soft green leaves in spring turn a clear yellow, sometimes tinged orange or red in autumn. Plant in most types of moist, well drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Will tolerate chalky soils. Hardiness rating H6. If purchasing for hedging, plant 7 per metre for a double staggered row.
