Dogwood – A deciduous suckering shrub, with vigorous shoots up to 2.5m high, with young shoots forming a dense thicket of yellow to olive green stems and green leaves, which turn brilliant red or orange in autumn. Very effective in winter if planted with red stemmed varieties. Plant in full sun or partial shade in alkaline or neutral soil, and suitable for moist or wet areas. Hardiness rating H6.
