Viburnum opulus

£1.80

Guelder rose: Water elder. A large, vigorous, deciduous shrub of spreading habit, with maple like 3-5 lobed leaves, with rich autumn colours. Flattened corymbs appear in June or July, and are edged with showy white ray florets, giving an effect similar to lace-cap hydrangeas, which are followed in autumn by shining red, translucent fruits, lasting long into the winter. This is a familiar native of hedgerows and suitable in wet or boggy situations. Plant in all types of moist, well drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Hardiness rating H6.
