Prunus insititia ‘Merryweather Damson’

£51.79

‘Merryweather Damson’: A deciduous, vigorous, spreading tree, yielding heavy crops of large, blue-black fruits. White flowers emerge in spring, followed by large fruits which can be used fresh when fully ripe in late summer. The fruit is usually used in cooking, and is particularly good for jams, pickles, damson gin and brandy. Merryweather is self-fertile and an excellent pollinator. If pruning is required this should be done in late spring or early summer, but never when the tree is dormant. Plant in moist, well drained neutral soil, in a sheltered position in full sun. Hardiness rating H6.
