A dwarf, deciduous, very free flowering shrub up to around 30cm high with dark green leaves. The small, single flowers are produced from early summer, and have short rose-scarlet sepals and tube, with violet petals, and are attractive to bees and other pollenating insects. Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil, in full sun or partial shade. Hardiness rating H4.
