A compact, deciduous, mound-forming dwarf shrub up to around 50cm high, with dark green, narrowly ovate, serrated leaves which change to shades or purple and red in autumn. Large flat pink or blue lace cap flowers appear from July through to September. This is an ideal plant for ground cover in more shaded areas of the garden. Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil in partial shade. Hardiness rating H4.
