Ilex castaneifolia Standard tree 10/12cm girth

£316.08

Chestnut Leaf Holly:   A vigorous, large evergreen shrub or small tree growing up to around 12 metres, with a dense, pyramidal crown, with smooth bark and bright green twigs.   Glossy dark green leaves with a spiked margin, which are slightly sharp make this an excellent screening tree.   Clusters of tiny white flowers appear in spring, and are followed by large red berries in autumn.   It is resistant to hot, dry conditions and grows well in most types of well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soils.   Can be shaped and clipped into hedges or topiary shapes.   Plant in full sun.   Hardiness rating H5. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock. FOR DELIVERY CHARGE PLEASE CALL 01949 21402
