A compact, rounded, evergreen shrub, with leathery, elliptical grey-green leaves with yellow margins, growing between 0.5 and 1m high.  Dense panicles of buds from red to pink open during April and May, into small, star-shaped creamy white flowers, which are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.   This is a male variety of skimmia.  Plant in shade or semi-shade in moist, well drained acid or neutral soil.   Hardiness rating H5.
