Citrus × sinensis is the classic sweet orange tree with spines along the branches.  Valued for its glossy evergreen foliage, intensely fragrant white flowers 2cm across which appear from late spring to summer, and well-loved edible fruit. In the UK, it thrives when grown in containers so it can enjoy outdoor warmth in summer and receive winter protection. With proper feeding, watering, and frost-free overwintering, orange trees can be highly ornamental and surprisingly productive even in cooler climates.  Plant in moist, well drained acid or neutral loam in full sun.   Hardiness rating H2. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering.
