Mahonia x media ‘Winter Sun’
Oregon grape: A compact evergreen shrub of upright habit, growing up to 3m tall, with long, spiny, pinnate dark green leaves. The erect, dense clusters of racemes bearing small, fragrant, bright yellow flowers appear in late autumn and early winter, and are followed by blue-black berries, and is attractive to bees and other pollenating insects. This is a lovely winter flowering shrub, bringing a bright splash of yellow during the winter months. Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil in full or partial shade. Hardiness rating H5.
