Descampsia cespitosa ‘Goldtau’ Tufted Hair Grass:  A lovely, evergreen, grass, forming dense mounds of slender, arching, mid-green leaves which turn golden brown as it matures.   Reddish-brown, silvery flower spikes, up to around 75cm in height, appear from early to late summer, the feathery inflorescences mature to a soft golden yellow, and appear as a golden cloud when caught by the light.   It is an ideal plant when planted in groups toward the front of a border, in a rock garden or spot planted amongst perennials.   Plant in moist, well drained acid or neutral soil, in full sun or partial shade.   Hardiness rating H5. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering.
