£79.00

A striking small, clump-forming evergreen shrub with ovate-elliptical, slender pointed leaves between 5-10cm long which is know for its deep red or purplish foliage which intensifies through the autumn, winter and spring, and is green in the summer.   White, cylindrical flowers in nodding clusters are borne in the summer.   This is a low-maintenance, compact plant, which is ideal for smaller gardens or borders.   This is an acid loving plant, so thrives best in moist well drained acid soil in full sun or partial shade.   Hardiness rating H6. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens or bare root hedging, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
