Cryptomeria japonica ‘Elegans’ Japanese cedar:   A large, fast growing evergreen conifer of broadly columnar habit with reddish shredding bark.   Tiered branched with blue-green foliage which changed through the seasons, turning purple, with hints of orange and red in autumn.   Height up to 4m.   Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil in full sun or partial shade, in a sheltered position.   Hardiness rating H6.
