Hosta sieboldiana ‘Elegans’ Giant blue hosta, plantain lily:  A deciduous perennial forming a large clump of heart shaped, puckered, broad, blue-grey leaves up to 30cm long.   Dense racemes of bell-shaped, lilac-tinged white flowers up to 75cm long, appear in summer.   This variety has excellent pest resistance and is usually spared by slugs.   Plants in moist, well drained acid to neutral soil in partial shade.   Hardiness rating H7. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens or bare root hedging, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
