Cistus creticus

Cretan rockrose:   A small, bushy, evergreen shrub growing up to around 1.5m tall and a spread of between 1-1.5m, with hairy stems and lightly aromatic green leaves.   The flowers, up to 6cm across, vary in shade from deep purple-pink to rose pink, with a yellow centre, and are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.   Plant in all types of moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil, in full sun.   Hardiness rating H4.
