Cistus × purpureus

£15.00

Rock rose: A small, bushy evergreen shrub, with dull green, narrow leaves and reddish stems.   Large rosy-crimson flowers with maroon basal blotches and a cluster of yellow stamens, and although short lived, are very freely produced over the summer months.      These plants revel in full sun and will tolerate dry banks, rock gardens and similar positions.    Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil, in full sun.   Hardiness rating H4. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens or bare root hedging, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
