Rosmarinus officinalis Common rosemary:  A dense evergreen shrub growing up to 2m high.   The linear, dark green, aromatic leaves 1.5-5cm long are pale beneath and are quite often used for culinary purposes.   Blue flowers are produced in spring and early summer on the previous year’s growth.   Will make an attractive informal hedge, and may be lightly pruned immediately after flowering.   Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral chalk loam or sandy soil in full sun or partial shade.   Hardiness rating H6.
