Ligustrum ovalifolium Oval-leaf privet: Garden privet:  A vigorous evergreen shrub with oval, glossy green leaves, mainly used for hedging and also used for game coverts.  If left untrimmed will reach a large size.   Small, fragrant white flowers in dense clusters appear from June to July, and are very attractive to bees.   Will tolerate most types of soils and aspects.   Hardiness rating H5.   If planting for hedging, plant 7 per metre for a double staggered row. Sold in bundles of 10/25 whips. 0+1 A two year field grown plant from seed, grown for two seasons in the same seed bed, and undercut after the first year to develop the root structure.
