Asplenium scolopendrium
Hart’s tongue fern: A lovely, evergreen fern up to 50cm high by 50cm wide, with fresh new tongue-like fronds unfurling in spring, to create upright clumps. The margins of the leaves often undulate, and spores are carried in conspicuous stripes under the fronds. Very attractive when planted amongst a woodland setting or towards the front of a partially shaded boarder. Plant in alkaline or neutral moist, well drained soil in full or partial shade. Will become more tolerant of dry soil once established. Hardiness rating H6.
At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering.
All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
