Dryopteris felix-mas ‘Mexica’ Mexican wood fern; Male Fern - A large, deciduous fern, with erect rhizomes which form graceful bouquets of lance shaped dull green fronds.   The fronds turn coppery coloured in autumn.   This is an adaptable and robust fern which will tolerate neglect, and is a great asset for a shady or difficult corner of the garden.   Height up to 1.2m and tolerant of clay soils.   Plant in full or partial shade, but will grow in full sun if given plenty of water.   Hardiness rating H5.

At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering.

All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
