A lovely perennial with mounds of glossy, deep green leaves and plumes of feathery, white flowers which bloom in summer through to September, and are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects. Astilbe can be planted in full sun or partial shade, and add interest and texture to shady areas and woodland gardens. Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil. Hardiness rating H7.
