Helenium ‘The Bishop’

Helenium ‘The Bishop’ Sneezeweed:  A semi-evergreen herbaceous perennial growing up to 1m in height, with broad foliage.   Masses of bright yellow, long lasting, shuttlecock-like flowers with brown centred flower heads are borne from June to September, and make excellent cut flowers, and are attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.   These plants are easy to grow, preferring moist, well drained, acid alkaline or neutral soil in full sun or partial shade.   The common name of Sneezeweed derives from the fact that the leaves were once used in snuff.   They are fully hardy with a hardiness rating of H7. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens or bare root hedging, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
