Lenten rose:   A clump-forming semi-evergreen perennial with leathery, divided, mid-green foliage.   The frilly, double, pink flowers open with soft, layered petals, bringing a burst of colour to borders during the cold winter months and into early spring, and attracting bees to the garden.    These plants thrive in well-drained semi-shaded borders and woodland gardens and beneath taller shrubs where other plants fail to grow.   Plant in moist, well drained alkaline or neutral soil in semi-shade.   Hardiness rating H7.
