Ceanothus arboreus ‘Trewithen Blue’ Felt Leaf Ceanothus, Californian Lilac: A vigorous, evergreen, large, spreading shrub or small tree up to between 4m – 6m in height.   The oval to rounded dark green leaves are up to 8cm in length.   Mid-blue, slightly fragrant panicles of flowers up to 12cm in length, appear from April to June, and are attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.   Can be grown as a wall shrub or small tree.   Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral loam, in full sun.   Hardiness rating H4.
