Cuprocyparis leylandii 2001 Cypress Leyland – Chamaecyparis leylandii: A large, extremely vigorous, fast growing tree of dense, columnar habit, up to 1meter per year, reaching heights of in excess of 30 meters if left unchecked, the branches are a little more erect than the original Leylandii, from which it is derived.    Produces small brown cones in winter with a distinct Christmas feel.  Will tolerate a wide range of conditions, including chalk soils and maritime areas.   Plant in moist, well drained soils in full sun or partial shade. Cupressocyparis leylandii ‘2001’ is a refined Leyland cypress variety bred for more manageable growth, retaining the dense evergreen foliage and screening ability that make leylandii so popular. It forms a thick, uniform hedge with regular pruning and establishes quickly, providing dependable privacy and wind protection. Its hardy, adaptable nature suits a wide range of UK garden conditions Hardiness rating H6.
