Chinese witch hazel – An evergreen shrub with oval-shaped, leathery, purple tined leaves.   The deep pink, witch hazel-like flowers with narrow petals, are freely produced from late winter to early spring.   Plant in moist, well drained loam, avoiding shallow chalky soils, in full sun.   do not allow to dry out, but protect from waterlogging.   May require winter protection.   Hardiness rating H3.
