A magnificent, very hardy, evergreen tree or shrub of conical habit.   Very large, fragrant, creamy white cup shaped flowers up to 25cm across, are produced throughout the summer and early autumn.   Large, leathery leaves, glossy green above, are often reddish brown beneath.    An ideal evergreen screening tree.  Regular watering is essential during the first season and until the plant has established.  Plant in a good depth of moist, well drained soil full sun or partial shade in a sheltered position or against a south, west or east facing wall.   Hardiness rating H5. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
