Oregon grape:  An evergreen, compact shrub of upright habit growing to around 125cm high.   The spine-free narrow foliage emerges bright red in spring and summer, later turning dark green as the season progresses.   Large yellow honey-scented flower spikes appear from August to November, which are attractive to bees, and are followed by blue-black berries.   Plant in moist, well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil in full sun or partial shade.   Hardiness rating H5.
