Sacred Bamboo, Heavenly Bamboo - A small, compact, extremely decorative, bamboo like shrub up to 45cm tall, with broad leaflets which are red-flushed when young, yellow-green through the summer, turning orange-red in winter. Small white conical panicles of flowers are produced in summer. Plant in all types of moist, well drained soil in full sun. Drought resistant. Hardiness rating H5.
