Sacred Bamboo - a very decorative, bamboo-like shrub of compact habit growing up to 1m in height. The new leaves are bronze, orange-tinted, which turn bluish green and then to gold or red as they mature in autumn. Small white flowers are borne in conical panicles in summer, occasionally followed by red berries. Plant in full sun, in moist, well drained soils. Drought resistant when established. Hardiness rating H5.
