Christmas berry:  A fast growing evergreen upright shrub up to 2.5-4m, with thick, leathery, oblong leaves with undulating edges.   This is a very popular variety for hedges and screens, as it has a thicker and more dense habit that Photinia ‘Red Robin’.   The new young leaves emerge in spring are a strong bright coppery red, followed by creamy white flowers which are sometimes followed by red berries.   Plant in moist, well drained acid or neutral soil, avoiding heavy clay, in full sun or partial shade.   Hardiness rating H4. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering.
