Pyracantha ‘Orange Glow’

Pyracantha ‘Orange Glow’ Firethorn: A strong growing, large evergreen shrub of upright habit, with glossy dark green oblong leaves and large thorns carried along the branches making it an extremely useful plant for security hedges along boundaries.   Masses of clusters of small, sweetly scented white flowers are borne in early summer, and are attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.   The flowers then develop into masses of bright orange berries which are carried throughout the winter, and provide a source of food for garden birds.   Pyracantha can also be grown as a free-standing shrub, or trained against a wall or fence as a specimen.   Plant in well drained acid, alkaline or neutral soil in sun or partial shade.   Hardiness rating H6.
