Lilac ‘Charles Joly’: A popular, medium sized deciduous shrub. Dark green, heart shaped leaves emerge in spring, followed by dense panicles of deep purplish red double, fragrant flowers in May or early June. Height 2.5-4m, width 2.5-4m. Attractive to bees and other pollenating insects. Plant in moist, well drained alkaline or neutral soil, in full sun. Hardiness rating H6.
