Lilac ‘Ruhm von Horstenstein’: A deciduous, vigorous shrub or small tree growing to around 4m high, with an upright to spreading habit. Dark green, broadly oval leaves are produced in spring, followed in May or early June by large clusters of single, lilac-red flowers which change to dark lilac as they mature. Attractive to bees and other pollenating insects. Plant in moist, well drained alkaline or neutral soil, in full sun or partial shade. Hardiness rating H6.
