Himalayan birch - An attractive, medium sized, deciduous tree with orange-brown to dark coppery brown, peeling bark, which is sometimes pinkish. Yellow-brown male catkins appear in spring before the dark green leaves up to 12cm long. Plant in all types of moist, well drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Hardiness rating H7.
