Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata’ Hornbeam – A medium-sized, erect, pyramidal shaped tree, narrow when young, becoming broader as it matures.   Easily grown, and suitable for clay or chalky soils.   Produces green catkins in spring, followed by hop-like fruit clusters.   Retains its dried leaves well into the autumn.   Hardiness rating is H7. We would advise that you will also need a stake, tie and Mona Relief watering system with this tree. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering.  All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock. As this is a large tree we will only be able to arrange delivery for post codes within a 50 mile radius of NG13 8JA.   Please call 01949 21402 for a delivery charge quotation.
