Tilia platyphyllos is a majestic, long-lived deciduous tree admired for its broad heart-shaped leaves and fragrant summer flowers. Forming a wide, domed canopy, it makes an excellent specimen or avenue tree for parks, large gardens, and landscapes. In early summer, clusters of creamy-yellow flowers attract bees and other pollinators, followed by small nut-like fruits. Hardy and adaptable, Large-leaved Lime thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded position, offering shade, beauty, and strong wildlife value for generations.
