Stokesia laevis ‘Mel’s Blue’ A clump-forming, semi-evergreen, upright perennial with dark green, leathery foliage.   Large, long lasting fringed periwinkle blue flowers are borne on strong stems from June to September, and are good for cut flowers.   The flowers are attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.  Plant in moist, well drained chalk, loam or sandy acid or neutral soil in full sun.   Hardiness rating H4. At certain times of the year the trees and plants that you buy from us may not look like the images shown on our website, this may be due to deciduous leaves falling, or the plant finishing flowering. All photographs on our website are of our own grown stock, or in the case of Italian specimens or bare root hedging, these are photographs of the plants actually in stock.
